The best ways to keep your food fresher, Longer

With summer comes heat… and we all know how well leafy greens withstand the test of a toasty afternoon: not well at all!

In fact, warm temperatures aren't great for the long-term health of any veggies; high temps can stimulate the breakdown of chlorophyll, resulting in premature yellowing of leaves as well as causing rapid softening, wilting and dehydration.

Thank goodness for fridges huh?!

Using the crisper drawer of your refrigerator is an ideal way to set up optimal veggie storage conditions, with the ideal temperature ranging between 1.7-4.4°C and humidity levels of about 50-60% relative humidity.

With all that said, some veggies shouldn't be stored in the fridge at all (i.e. tomatoes).
