Seasonal Organic Appetizers to Wow Your Guests
It's dinner party season… and who doesn't want to impress their guests?!
There comes a point in one's dinner-party-hosting where things may begin to seem a little repetitive.
Here are a bunch of appetizer ideas to change up a typical evening of entertaining!
Cheese Boarding.
A quintessential feature of a dinner party preamble, cheese boards are set to impress the guests and their taste buds.
Make it healthy and seasonal by swapping out store-bought crackers for carrot and cucumber sticks.
For something a little different, throw kohlrabi sticks in the mix—you'll be pleasantly surprised!
Homemade hummus.
Go above and beyond by making your own hummus.
It's actually very easy, and you can get creative with flavours: we recommend roast carrot hummus; caramelized onion hummus; roast garlic and beetroot hummus - the world is your oyster!
Baba Ghanoush
Turn that beautiful eggplant into a mouthwatering baba ghanoush - all that's required is a bit of baking action, followed by blending the cooked eggplant with cumin, tahini, lemon juice and garlic.
Not only is it divine, it's fairly hands off and easy to fit in around the plethora of other kitchen jobs when prepping for your party!
Jalapeños Poppers
If you've got the time and effort, turn a whole bunch of jalapeños into creamy, delightful poppers.
It can be fiddly, and I would recommend wearing gloves when dealing with the seeds (some of those bad boys are SPICY!), but you'll certainly be showered with compliments from the guests!
Crunchy Veggie Rice Wraps
Pull out your julienne tool and get to work on carrots, cucumber and cabbage combining them with pickled ginger, chopped spring onions and a whole bunch of coriander.
Roll them all into rice paper sheets and serve with soy sauce and sweet chilli sauce for a super healthy fresh appetizer.
Bruschetta.
Bruschetta is a classic Italian appetizer that's fancy and super easy to make at home.
They're superb when topped with a deadly mixture of cherry tomatoes, garlic parmesan cheese, fresh basil and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar - the only problem might be that they disappear in seconds!
